New Shoes【新しい靴】

ねこの靴くつが小ちいさくなってきたので、新あたらしい靴くつを買かうことになりました。

ねこは今いままでと全まったく同おなじデザインと同おなじ色いろの靴くつがいいといいました。

なぜか聞きいてみると、

「足あしおっきくなった？とは聞きかれないから。」
「靴くつ変かわった？は聞きかれるけど。」

もし同おなじデザインの靴くつならサイズが変かわったぐらいでは友達ともだちに気きづかれないけど、色いろが変かわると気きづかれてしまう。

どうやら靴くつが変かわったことに気きづかれるのがいやみたいでした。

みんなそれぞれこだわりがありますね。

Neko has grown out of her shoes, so we went to buy her new ones.

She said she wanted the exact same model and color as the shoes she had.

When I asked her why that was, she told me “Because nobody will ask me if my feet got bigger.” “They will ask if I got new shoes.”

If it’s the same model, her friends won’t notice that her shoesize changed, but if the color is different they will notice.

It seems she didn’t want anyone to notice that she got new shoes.

People have various things they care about, I suppose.
