わたしは　ねこをかいたいとおもっています。なぜなら、ねこといぬがすきだからです。アメリカンショートヘアーみたいなねこがほしいです。おかあさんもねこがすきです。

私は猫を飼いたいと思っています。なぜなら、猫と犬が好きだからです。アメリカンショートヘアーみたいな猫が欲しいです。お母さんも猫が好きです。

I want to have a cat for a pet. It is because I like both cats and dogs. I want one like an American shorthair. Mom likes cats too.

我わが家やには犬いぬがいますが、猫ねこも欲ほしいな〜と思おもっています。犬いぬが嫉妬しっとしてしまうかもしれないので、新あたらしく猫ねこを飼かうか迷まよってしまいます。

We have a dog, but we’d also like to have a cat. I worry the dog might get jealous, so we aren’t sure yet.

In Japanese, things one wants are often described with “I’m thinking I want” . this also applies to wanting to do things.
For example : 「猫ねこを飼かいたいと思おもっています」
　　　　　　 「明日あしたは休やすみたいと思おもいます」
It doesn’t change the meaning in itself however, 飼いたいです and 飼いたいと思います are both translated as “I want to have for a pet”
