Stuffed animals Neko and I made

ねことわたしつくった動物どうぶつ紹介しょうかいします。

I would like to show you some stuffed toys Neko and I made.

Cat

これはねこのぬいぐるみです。最近さいきんねこは裁縫さいほうにはまっていて、なにいたいとうのでぬいぐるみをつくりました。ねこははじめてミシンを使つかいました。いえにあるものだけで作ったので、はボタンです。世界せかい1つひとつだけのぬいぐるみでりました。

材料ざいりょう:ぬのいと綿わた、ボタン

This is a stuffed cat. Neko has been into sewing lately and as she wanted to sew something, we made a stuffed toy. Neko used the sewing machine for the first time. We made it just with things we had lying around the house, so the eyes are buttons. It is one of a kind and Neko loves it.

Things we used: cloth, thread, cotton padding and buttons.

Dog

これはばこ毛糸けいといて作ったいぬです。うちの犬をモデルにしました。まず空き箱とトイレットペーパーのしんで犬のかたちを作ってから、毛糸を巻きました。毛糸はボンドでつけました。背中せなかにほかのぬいぐるみをせてあそべます。チャームポイントはみみ内側うちがわのピンクのところです。
材料:お菓子かしの空き箱、トイレットペーパーの芯、毛糸、ボンド、目のボタン、テープ

This is a dog we made by wrapping knitting wool around an empty box. We modeled it on our dog. First we made the empty box and empty toilet paper rolls into the shape of a dog, then we wrapped it in knitting wool. We stuck the knitting wool onto the box with superglue. You can let other stuffed animals ride on its back! What is especially cute about this dog, is the pink inside its ears.

We used: An empty cookie box, empty toilet rolls, knitting wool, superglue, buttons for eyes and tape.

REMARKS

チャームポイント As the word suggests, this means “the cutest, most attractive thing” about something. There are many so-called “Japanese English” phrases in the Japanese language, and they tend to have a slightly different nuance from their English counterparts. This one is pretty straightforward, but keep in mind phrases related to “cuteness” are used a lot more than you may imagine. Adults and children alike talk very much about cuteness.
