Who has it easier?【どっちがいいか】

ねこは学校がっこうがお休やすみで、ゲームしたりペットと遊あそんだり、ゴロゴロして暇ひまそうだった。

ねこ:「喉のど渇かわいたから、水みずでも飲のもっかなー。」

私わたし:「子供こどもはお気き楽らくでいいねー。お母かあさんはやることいっぱいだわ。」

ねこは３分ぷんくらい何なにか考かんがえていた。

ねこ:「お母かあさんは子こ供どものほうがいいって言いったけど、ねこは大人おとなのがいいと思おもう。子こ供どもってひまだもん。」

確たしかに暇ひまな時じ間かんが多おおすぎても退屈たいくつだな〜と思おもって納得なっとくです。

大人おとなは子こ供どもが羨うらやましいと思おもう時ときがあるけど、子こ供どもは大人おとなが羨うらやましいと思おもってます。

Neko was looking a bit bored, what with school being closed and spending the day playing games, playing with the pets and lying around on the bed.

Neko: “I’m kinda thirsty, maybe I’ll have some water…”

Me: “Hmm must be nice being a kid, nothing to worry about, I have a lot to do!”

Neko seemed to think about something for about 3 minutes..

Neko: “Mom, you said that kids have it easier but I think being a grownup is much better. It’s boring being a kid.”

I suppose I understand, as she does have a whole lot of free time and must be bored.

We grownups envy kids at times, but they envy us too.

暇ひま this word means “free time” as well as a feeling of boredom.
