A change of pace

おふろに入ったあと、お兄ちゃんがパジャマを裏返うらがえしに着きていた。
私わたし:「パジャマ裏返しだよ？」
と言いったら
お兄ちゃん:「明日あした大会たいかいだから気分きぶん変かえてみるの！」
彼かれはよく服ふくを反対はんたいに着るので、私は、ただ裏返しを直なおすのがめんどくさいのか、本当ほんとうに気分を変えるためにやっているのか分わからなかったのでしばらく様子ようすを見みた。
10分じゅっぷんくらいたってからもう一度いちど聞きいてみた。
そしたらやっぱり、「気分かえてみてるの。」
彼かれなりのおまじないだったのかな。

After taking a bath, big brother was wearing his pajamas inside out.
Me: “Your pajamas are inside out!”
Big brother: “Tomorrow is the big competition, so I’m trying a change of pace.”
Considering he often wears his clothes inside out, I doubted whether he really wanted a change of pace or just couldn’t be bothered to take his pajamas off and wear them correctly, so I decided to wait and see what would happen.
After about 10 minutes, I asked him again. And again he said “I just want to change things up a bit!”
Maybe it’s his version of a good luck charm?
